ACLASS and AMERICANTCB
Sign Agreement for Growth in ASIA

ALEXANDRIA, VA – August 2009. ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board/ACLASS and AmericanTCB signed a cooperative agreement to expand services for accreditation activities in Asia. ACLASS, recently granted NVCASE designation by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), provides laboratory accreditation services for EMC testing, calibration and testing, and related fields.

This agreement provides both organizations with tools to expand into the dynamic China market by providing accreditation, quality systems training, accreditation support services, technical evaluations and related tools for the compliance industry.

Keith Greenaway, Vice President of ACLASS and Michael Violette, Director of ATCB recently signed the agreement at the ACLASS offices in Old Town Alexandria
“This cooperation will seed the ground for further expansion of our accreditation services, especially our training activities,” said Greenaway, “we are keen on the opportunities in Asia and are looking forward to working with the ATCB team. With our recent designation under the NVCASE program, ACLASS is ready to accept further applications for accreditation."

Violette explained the natural connection with an accreditation body. “We’ve developed a solid network of clients in Asia, many of whom are test laboratories that evaluate the latest products bound for the US and abroad. The pace of development and the economic pressures are enormous. Elevating the quality and consistency of the testing processes is an end-result of proper accreditation and is a distinct need in developing markets. In the end, confidence, public safety and ultimately free trade are enhanced by proper accreditation. That’s where ACLASS comes in.”

ACLASS is a signatory of the multilateral recognition arrangements (MRAs) of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC). ACLASS is also a signatory of the Inter-American Accreditation Cooperation (IAAC) multilateral recognition arrangement (MLA).
